PLC Repair

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

We often see problems associated with the communication ports. This is because they are susceptible to overvoltage, for example due to lightning or incorrect connections.

This depends on the brand, type and defect. Because we do not have sufficient insight into the software, we are unable to offer any guarantees regarding this. We try to reset parameters as closely as possible to the settings they have upon arrival. This is product-dependent.
This depends on the PLC. Generally, a 'run LED' being off or an error light being on will indicate a fault

Provide a detailed description of the fault and specify whether we should try to retain the existing software. This information will often help us diagnose the fault more quickly.

You should also ensure that you make a backup of the settings. If this is not possible, please tell us that you wish to retain the software when you submit your item for repair.

A PLC can have both an external and an internal power supply. These require preventive maintenance. It is crucial that the heat from a PLC can dissipate. To ensure effective cooling, fans must be kept free of dust.
